LG PuriCare Water Purifier vs. Coway Review: Which Water Purifier is Best?

LG PuriCare Water Purifier

Hey guys! Today, We are going to be comparing water purifiers. You heard me right—water purifiers. Specifically, the LG PuriCare and the Coway, both are the leading water purifier supplier in Malaysia.

Contrary to popular belief, not all water purifiers are created equal. The LG PuriCare, for example, comes with a tankless design, while the Coway has its usual tank in the back. How about that for a rhyme?

Benefits of a Tankless Design : LG PuriCare water purifier vs. Coway

There are a couple of benefits to a tankless design, one of them being its size. A smaller frame means the LG PuriCare water purifier can easily fit into most kitchen setups. With the Coway tank type, it’s a bit awkward positioning the water purifier in any way but the front. The LG PuriCare water purifier, on the other hand, can be positioned sideways and still have easy access to the faucet, thanks to the 180-degree rotating tap.

Having a tankless design benefits the quality of the water too. The more you know! Since water isn’t being stored in the purifier, water isn’t going to be stagnant, so the water that comes out of the LG PuriCare water filter is always going to be fresh and hygienic.

That said, the tank of the Coway tank type does have its benefits as well. In the case of water disruption, there will always be some water left stored in the tank. Since the PuriCare has no tank, it only heats up water when you need it and does so instantly. With the Coway tank type, water is being reheated continuously to supply hot water, which might lead to higher power consumption.

Different Methods of Water Filtration : LG PuriCare Water Purifier vs. Coway

The two water purifiers also use different methods of water filtration. The LG PuriCare uses Ultra Filtration (UF), while the Coway uses Reverse Osmosis (RO). The UF membrane filter of the LG is able to remove nine types of heavy metals, while the RO on the Coway removes 99.9% of particles. Both provide safe and clean drinking water.

The LG PuriCare also has a UV light built into the faucet as a second layer of hygiene in case any dirt or impurities get trapped inside. Both the LG PuriCare and the Coway are capable of dispensing water at variable temperatures like hot, cold, and even ambient. The LG does, however, have the upper hand when it comes to precise temperature selection, so you can select between 40, 75, and 85 degrees Celsius of hot water, depending on your needs.

That level of precision is also available for volume selection on the LG PuriCare Water Dispenser, so you can choose between 120,250, 500, and 1000-milliliter options to accurately fill up cups, bottles, and even jugs. To make things even easier, the PuriCare features a OneTouch dispense button, so you don’t have to push and hold down a lever.

Additional Features of LG PuriCare vs Coway

Another cool feature the LG PuriCare has over the Coway is the LG ThinQ app. That’s right—there’s an app for your water purifier! What the app allows you to do is monitor your water usage and consumption to see if you’re drinking enough water throughout the day. The app also monitors the UV LED in the faucet we mentioned earlier to make sure it’s not contaminated.

Both the LG Rent Up Water Purifier and the Coway outright price of the LG PuriCare is 3200 ringgit, which might seem steep compared to the 3590 ringgit Coway. LG also gives you two years of filter subscription compared to the single year service Coway provides.

Beside than this, LG and Coway also offer rent to own plan to users. Which is more valuable which is include filter and warranty cover during the rental period.

Conclusion

So, the LG PuriCare and the Coway are both great water purifiers for the price. The LG has more thoughtful features like a slim design, instantly filtered water, precise volume and temperature indicators, as well as the 180-degree rotating tap. The Coway has a more thorough filtration system with the RO method and a tank for storing water, but at the cost of a bulkier design. The decision eventually relies upon users preference and spending budget.
