Before you can buy an air conditioner, you first have to determine the proper horsepower (HP) for your room. Determining the proper horsepower is important because if you pick low horsepower, the compressor will run continuously, and it would not be easy to chill the room.
For every horsepower rating, it has its equivalent BTU range:
You just use this simple formula: Room Length (ft) × Room Width (ft) × 60
How It Works
12 × 11 × 60 = 7,920 BTU → 1 HP is appropriate.
13 × 12 × 60 = 9,360 BTU → It’s approximately 1.5 HP (9,500 BTU), so the one to be used would be better as 1.5 HP .
There are some other parameters that decide the cooling capacity, like number of windows. More the windows, more the light entering and more the room temperature, so more efficient air conditioner will be needed.
There are two types of basic air conditioners:
1.
Non-Inverter
2.
Dual Inverter
